Tan-Tan Noodle in Little Tokyo / ロスの坦々麺

My friends and I wanted to go to this Funk/Soul Event in Little Tokyo "Shibuya".
It is an once-a-month event at Chop Suey. Chikara kun from Giant Panda plays such a
cool 70's - 90's Funk/Soul and hip-hop music, and Jun chan's friend Omae san also got
some cool music collection. I don't like the popular hip-hop music I hear on radio, and generally, I don't listen to it at all, but I like Chikara kun's selection. I like 70's Funk too and I can't forget 80's - 90's either!

Anyway, we stopped by Chin-Ma-Ya of Tokyo in Little Tokyo before going to Shibuya with girls, and we heard this Tan-Tan-Men(Noodle) was really good, so we had to try it.
And.... it WAS good! The noodle was perfectly el dente. I love the noodle perfectly chewy, and suit to the soup. The soup was spicy as the way I like (you can choose how spicy you want the soup to be), thick and flavorful. I loved it. I totally recommend this place.
Tan-Tan-Men was like $6.95. And they have a happy-hour. Draft Beer is 99cent! (5pm-7pm)

昨晩はお友達のイベント「SHIBUYA」に行ってまいりました。リトル東京のChop Sueyというレストランの横に細長～～～いアリーがあるのですが、そこのバーで毎月1回、ファンク・ソウルイベント行ってます。お友達のちからくん（Giant Panda)やおーまえさん達は70s、80s、90sのかっこいーファンク、ソウル、はたまたヒップホップのコレクションで盛り上げてくれます。ヒップホップはほとんど聞かないけど、ちからくん達がセレクトする音は好き。おっされ〜です。

で、そのSHIBUYAに行く前におなかが空いたので、ガールズ達とChin-Ma-Ya of Tokyoというところの坦々麺がおいしいというので、挑戦！しかも、ハッピーアワーで生ビールが99セント！安いっ！（５時から７時までね）担々麺の方はといいますと麺にこしがあって、スープは濃厚、ぴりっと辛く（辛さが選べる）、味に深みがあっておいしーー！皆揃って「おいしーーーー！」の一言。ここはおすすめですー。
上の写真は担々麺、辛さ：ミディアム。お値段は6.95ドルぐらいだったかなー。

After I went to a kickboxing class, I always stop by Trader Joe's on Arroyo Pkwy for lunch next day. It's just convenient which is on the way going home. I was thinking about making some healthy Edamame Salad for tomorrow, but unfortunately, TJ didn't have the Edamame - Unshelled at the store. So I stopped by Whole Foods which is right in front of TJ on same street. I thought it would be adventure since I've never stopped by and shopped there. But this Whole Foods was different from other Whold Foods... It's HUUUUUUUUUGE!!! It's 2 stories with full of FOOD, FOOD, FOOD! I was suprised how big that was. They even had a escalator too! I don't usually shop at Whole Foods since it's not that cheap when you compare to TJ... but it's nice to know they must have almost everything you can think of!!

最近キックボクシングのクラスの帰りにArroyo PkwyのTrader Joe's に寄るのが日課になってきました。次の日、いつも私の弁当担当だから食品をクラスの後に買うのに超便利です。でも明日食べたかった枝豆サラダ（といっても具はもりだくさん！）の肝心な枝豆が残念なことに皮なしで売っていなかったため、目の前にある最近出来たばかりみたいなWhole Foodsのお店へ寄ってみることに。お店に入った途端、たまげてしまいました。めちゃめちゃ広い、でかい、商品ありすぎ！！驚きました。ただのWhole Foodsじゃなくて、２階建てのWhole Foodsです。
私の大好きなヨーグルトセクション行ったら、ヨーグルトの種類が豊富でよりどりみどり！すご〜〜い、これは〜〜〜〜〜〜！とTJでもうすでに買ったグリークヨーグルトのことを後悔しながら、どんな品があるのか品定め。もうSheep Milkのヨーグルト、グリークヨーグルト、Low Fat、オーガニック、、、などなど、、今度はここで買ってやる！
なんとここは学校等のために店内ツアーもやっているそうです。どんだけ広いんじゃ！！

Eco Bags, cosmetics etc... on 2nd floor, they got huge selection of foods. You use this escalator to go up and down in "Grocery Store". ;P
I want to name this Grocery Shopping Mall...

1階はビタミン、コスメ、日用雑貨、エコバッグなどなど、2階が食料品の嵐。本当、食料品のモールですな。このエスカレーターを利用して上がったり下がったりする訳です、、、。

Keenhouse, College, Anoraak!!

I know I was sick and I took a day and half off from my work on this Tuesday, and Wednesday... and I finally got better on next day. I know I should stay home and get rest more until I get better completely... But I couldn't resist this one Keenhouse, College and Anoraak Show at the Echoplex on this Thursday night. That wasn't a sold-out show, and not that many people to start with but at the end, more people showed up and we really had a great time. I knew College from Myspace from a long time ago, and I was excited about him coming in town. His, and Anoraak music reminds me of 80's, early 90's pop electronic music.

今週はスノボー後のどをやられ、体調を崩し、火曜日は会社を早退、水曜日は会社を休み、木曜日は調子が良くなったから会社に戻ったのですが、、その夜どうしても見逃せないライブがあったので行ってきてしまいました。てへっ！先月に出会ったKeenhouseに、ずっと前から好きだった フランスDJ、Collegeとめぐっぺのおかげで知ったAnoraak。どれも８０年代、９０年代初期を思い出させるようなロゴに音でどうしても見たかった訳です。最初のLexiCondonが出て来た時はがら〜んとほとんど誰もいなかった、、、というか友達が応援に来てた、、程度だったけど、Keenhouseぐらいからどんどんと盛り上がりを見せて最後はパック状態に近い状態。めぐっぺのお友達も途中参加で、皆今晩の音を気に入って楽しんでたみたいだったから超楽しかった。良い音を分かってくれる仲間と一緒にいることがなんか最近楽しいと思うこの頃です。

Snow Summit

I finally went snowboarding with my friends to Snow Summit. This is my first time to snowboard in this season or in this 2 years. It has been a while since I did last time so I was a bit concerned if I could do this well. But my body always remember what I need to do and I was fine. :) I realized if I got a good pair of boots, and board, I can perform the best. And now with a good pair of boots and board (rental), I could try the advance course which I was usually scared of... So, I finally accomplished my goal on snowboarding! :) I even tried the baby jumps. I didn't get landed completely most of the times, but it's ok, I was scared of doing it for a while, so it means something at least I tried! It was sooo much fun and I want to go again!
But by hitting freazing cold wind, my throat is swollen, and I think I got a cold now... :( Since I don't have anyone who can take care of me, I feel lonely! :(
Snow condition at Snow Summit: Man maid snow... some part was icy. Snow a little in the morning. Half day lift ticket (12pm - 5pm): $54 ($64 for all day), Snowboard rental: $18, Insurance for rental: $2

やーっと久しぶりのスノボーに先週の日曜日、行ってきました！場所はSnow Summitというスキーリゾート地でロスから約３時間東にドライブするとSan Bernardino National Forestという山の中にあります。朝７時に友達の家で集合。結局滑り出したのは12時。今回は半日コースということで滑ったけど、半日はちょっと短かったなー。まー２年ぶりのスノボーだったからちゃんと出来るかどうかちょっと不安だったけど、体はやっぱり覚えてるらしく、今回は新しくアドバンスコース挑戦で、なんとかこなすことに出来ました。ww　ジャンプも6−7年前に大きく尻餅ついてから怖くなってやってなかったけど、今回は超小さなベイビージャンプもトライして１回だけちゃんと着地成功。でもほとんど転んだけどね。今シーズンが終わっちゃう前にもう１度ぐらい行きたいです。
スノボーやってる間、ずっと冷たい風に吹かれたからか、今喉が痛いです．．．。風邪を引いたかな．．．。今日病院に行ってお薬貰ってきたからだいぶ良くなったけど、やっぱりお世話してくれる人がいないと寂しいわ〜。早く誰か見つからないかな〜。

The snow was ok this time. If I go to Mammoth or something, snow condition should be much better!

今回の雪はまーまーだったかなー。マンモスとか行くともっと良い雪になるよね。次回はマンモスに行きたい！

2009 First Concert - Metronomy!

My concert buddies Meg+Gabu chan and I went to see Metronomy at El Rey on Wednesday night. This is my first concert in 2009! Since we didn't have any show to see until March, and concerts were like my drug... I started shaking! haha j/k. :P But seriously, I miss going to see a show (even though I already went like 3 shows last months lol), and I had to "find" one. And there it is. I found it! This electronic music group, "Metronomy" wasn't on my music list however I found them through Tickemaster or Live Nation mail magazine. Immediately I liked their sound, and I passed the link to Meg. She liked it too. So here we were at El Rey, we totally enjoyed the show.

According to Wiki, they are from UK, and have been playing since 1999. They are accomplished a lot of remixes for such as Klaxons, Ladytron, Franz Ferdinand, Zero 7, the Young Knives etc... and they were opener for Klaxons, Bloc Party, CSS, Justic etc... and then they finally became headliner in 2008 and started their tour. No wonder they looked like they were not used to be on stage or something... But that's a good thing they finally became a headliner! They have original albums which are Pip Paine (Pay The £5000 You Owe), and Nights Out. I like Nights Out. This is a fun album.

2009年、今年お初のライブに行って来ました！その名も「Metronomy」！今月、２月と何のコンサートもないねーなんてめぐっぺと言っていたのがきっかけでサーチをしていたところ、これに行き着いた訳です。なんか毎月のようにコンサート行っていきなりなくなるととドラッグの効き目が消えるように震えてくる、、、。もうドラ中、、いやコンサート中毒になってます、、、。

でもこのMetronomy,　かわいいエレクトロニックな音を出してるでないの。ウィキを読んでたらこのバンド、イギリス出身で99年から活動を初めてるらしいですが、他のバンドのリミックス（Klaxons, Ladytron, Franz Ferdinand, Zero 7, the Young Knives）で知られてるみたいで、オープニングバンドとしてはコンサートに出てたらしいですが（Klaxons, Bloc Party, CSS, Justicなどの前座）、やっとヘッドライナーとして活動が始められたのがなんと去年！なんと！！ライブを見てる時になんかかわいいというか、初々しさが伝わってきて、「あれ、デビューしたて？」って思えるほどハニカミな感じが伝わってきました。オリジナルアルバム、Pip Paine (Pay The £5000 You Owe), と Nights Out　２枚も出してるのにね。 でもこれからさ！良い音を出してるから売れると思うぞ！私は去年だした「Nights Out」好きです。

Their performance was a bit crazy but using the fabric, and made some illusion.. that was cool.

前座：The Mae Shi （メーシって誰かが発音してた．．．。めーし？飯？名刺？？）どっから来たのよ、その名前！
このバンドの音楽はちょっと激しかったかな。でもボーカルがちょっと狂ってそうで面白かったww　あとこの布を使ってちょっとしたイリュージョンをクリエイトしてたのは楽しかった。参加型のライブはいつも歓迎ですww
